This post is to remind me why I grow daffodils when I'm tired of waiting for the leaves to die back. The first ones to bloom are finished, and there is one clump not blooming yet. Some of these are in my collages, but the pics are from today. I've shown each from the clump, then closer. I wish I knew their names, but haven't kept good records.
Hi Sue~~ I LOVE your photos. Who knew there were so many nuances to a simple yet lovely flower? I look forward to seeing these borders as more works of art pop up!
ReplyDeleteYou have so many types of daffodils Susan! White ones are my favorite.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty Sue, I like those white daffodils you don't see them to often, and great photo shots
ReplyDeleteIt is just like seeing white flowers giving birth to nice looking yellow babies... interesting flower! ~ bangchik
ReplyDeleteHi! I love your daffodils! Once the daffs are bloomed out and those strappy messy leaves remain for what seems like forever...we do need reminders of why we planted them! Thank you for the reminder of their beauty! Yours are beautiful! I've started moving the like ones all together and in a few spots...to get them out of the smaller beds where they crowded the little wildflowers.
ReplyDeleteI hope they bloom next year! Have a good day Sue! Gail
Your daffs are gorgeous Sue. How can anyone not love them? :) Beautiful shots too.
ReplyDeleteSue these first flowers are a cheerful sight!Mother Natures sunshine!! I've arrived home to my garden and my Spring flowers have NOT
ReplyDeleteyet shown their dainty heads. :)
Lovely daffodils Sue, most of ours have gone, a bit of a wait now until the summer bulbs come through.
ReplyDeleteI love your daffodils, they do go through sort of an awkward phase as they are finished blooming, but you need to leave their foliage. Mine are pretty much finished now.
ReplyDeletePretty Daffs! These photos are a great reminder of why we plant them each fall. :) It's all worth it come spring when they bless us with their pretty blooms.
ReplyDeleteYes, I'm with the rest of you...daffodils seem so ho-hum in the fall, and so full of the onrush of life in spring, with their little trumpets. My addiction to tulips makes it hard to get more narcissus, but I have early, mid, and late ones so at least I have them througout.
ReplyDeleteLove the galvanized pansy planters! I'm not familiar with the square tubs.
Your garden is just beautiful! I found it by accident when I was looking up "sunflowers" I plan to keep coming back abd catching up with all your flowers. Thanks from a new garden-nut in Charleston,SC
ReplyDeleteSue, your daffodils are so beautiful, ours are already gone.
ReplyDeletePrayers, Bo
Lovely!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, the first one may be Ice Follies.......
ReplyDeleteThese are lovely. That last one looks almost like a Pheasant's Eye narcissus, but the yellow bit (perianth?) isn't small enough. Your daffodils look particularly good against that white wrought iron fence/gate.
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing like daffodils to get the ball rolling so to speak and cheer us up in the spring.
ReplyDeleteDonna
Those are wonderful and you have a nice collection. They make me feel happy.
ReplyDeleteFlowerLady
You do have a lot of beauiful daffodils - I especially like the one in the last photo, the orange center is so wonderfully ruffled.
ReplyDeleteGreat shots
My favorite spring flowers!I try to plant more every fall - they just keep coming back every year, to brighten up the garden.
ReplyDeleteThese are lovely blooms and the fact that they come in some many wonderful shades of white, pink and yellow makes it a great choice!
ReplyDeleteSo many & so pretty! I'll bet your gardens are completely filled up with other great plants by summer!
ReplyDeleteHappy Earth Day!
Such beautiful daffodils! I wish we could grow them here in Florida. Just a tad too hot I'm afraid. :)
ReplyDeleteLindas demais! Parabens!!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the comments and information. I am still in the process of visiting all your blogs.
ReplyDeletePamela, I wasn't able to get to your profile, I think, because it is private. Do you have a blog?
Happy spring!
