I bought this kalanchoe a couple days after last month's GBBD, and already the tag is misplaced.
I'm thinking someone told me this is a type of aloe.
There are only a couple African violets blooming right now.
Thank you Carol, of May Dreams Gardens for hosting this monthly event. I hope to have some outdoor blooms next month, as many of you most likely hope for as well.
Hooray for your blooms!!!!! Spring, spring, spring....sigh
ReplyDeleteLove your african violet blooms. I wish I had the thumb for them.
ReplyDeleteGoodness Sue, Those African Violets are wonderful, the pretty pink flowers and the soft velvet leaves. gail
ReplyDeleteLove your Violets. They remind me of Mrs. Weldon, who grew such beautiful African Violets in an east facing kitchen window, 50 years ago. I knew you'd have something lovely to show on Bloom Day.
ReplyDeleteI think we're all looking forward to next Bloom Day.
Lovely blooms to get you through the winter, Sue! The best part about February is that it's a short month. I'm hoping, too, that March will be a different story.
ReplyDeleteIt is so much fun to have house plants. What beautiful blooms!
ReplyDeleteHi, Sue! I was so hoping my African Violets would get with the program for GBBD but no dice. Just a bunch or promising buds. Happy Bloom Day! Love your pics. :))
ReplyDeleteSue your kalanchoe and violet blooms are so pretty. I love the pink one!
ReplyDeleteThe violets are really stunning. ~bangchik
ReplyDeletealoha,

I love your african violets. Such pretty blooms :-)
ReplyDeleteNice pictures. I love studying kalanchoe blooms ... they are so perfect they look like plastic.
ReplyDeleteThe kitchen design is looking good, by the way!
Your African Violets are beautiful; especially the pink one! I never had much luck growing them. I think you either have a knack for them or not, and I'm in the 'not' category :)
ReplyDeleteLucky you that you can manage to grow houseplants - I tend to kill them before they can bloom... Lovely photos.
ReplyDeleteSue, those blooming cactus are always a welcome treat during the dark days of winter. I love your violets and am a big softie when it come to pink and purple ones.
ReplyDeleteAre you sure spring is only 33 days away? I think it will take that long for all our snow to melt. :)
I to love flowers. The african violets are very pretty.I'm thinking if that is a aloa plant It's one I have never seen.If you fine out for sure let me know please.Trish
ReplyDeleteWell Sue, you have a lot of blooms there, in comparison to many garden bloggers, myself included! Love the cactus, the african violets and the kilanchoe...all 3 of which I have had in the past but don't right now. Well, actually I DO have a kilanchoe but there is nary a bloom on it. I had a hard time getting it to rebloom after it bloomed on and off for months last year. Once it stopped, it just seemed to say, 'that's it, I'm done'. I'm still working on it under a grow light to see if I can get it to come back. As for the aloe, I've never had one. I know there's a first time for everthing. Do cats like aloe? If not, that might be the plant for me!
ReplyDeleteSue, this post makes me want to run out and buy some African Violets. Do cats like them? I think I know the answer to that.
