Hot and Cold with Tatyana

Some of us are needing a break from all the white, and Tatyana, from My Secret Garden wrote an awesome post she titled, "Contrast Shower. Want to Join?" Well, I thought I'd find a few photos to post to join her, but ended up having trouble stopping. So, if you haven't read her post, go read that before reading mine, so you'll understand what I'm doing.

My take on the hot and cold have to do with the weather. Since I'm about to be up past my bed time, I am going to let you figure out which is which. In some places, there are pairs of plants, with the one from when it was hot out, then how it or the area it was looks now.

Hot and Cold!

  2. This was fun, Sue! I saw Tatyana's post yesterday and thought it was a clever idea; seeing the same plant side by side in such extreme seasons really shows the contrast. Of course, my favorites are the photos of your little garden helper--maybe he can make some snow angels now:)

  3. Very neat, but it makes me a little sad missing summer! What's the puffy yellow pom pon flower? Those daylilies are gorgeous. Now I want to garden.

  4. Good morning Sue! I should tell your colds are very cold. You have tons of snow! I like when a real cold weather comes after the snow. Then, plants'roots, bulbs, etc. have some protection. We have low temperatures, but no snow, and it makes me worry about naked ground being too cold. I love the grandson pictures! I also like that you left dried plants in the garden, they add an interest to it. Thank you for joining my contrast shower!

  6. That was both fun and encouraging. This time of year my garden is the pits, all died back and dull. It helps to be reminded that it doesn't always look like that. There's hope! hehe
Your grandson is the most adorable little guy ever. I love the shot of him with the hose. He looks so serious. LOL.

  11. Sure is some contrast there. Amazing how much looking at a picture can have an almost physical effect: As I was viewing I was alternating between wanting to stretch out in the warmth, or get under a blanket. First snow in London today, but I don't think you'd be impressed by our few transient flakes.
