  8. I've never had fried green tomatoes, although they are a Southern delicacy. Hubby just made a Greek tomato sauce with the ripe tomatoes we've had so far, and I plan on making salsa. Salsa made with black Russian tomatoes is the best!

  9. Thanks for the fun and encouraging comments. I have only made fried green tomatoes a few times, and it was in the fall, when frost was threatening. I don't think I could bring myself to pick green ones in the summer. You never know which ones are going to ripen first, and I'd hate it to be one of those I picked.

    The 6 year old boy across the street and I garden on Wednesday nights. Last night, he had fun looking at the plants, seeing what all was on them. He counted 10 tomatoes on 1 of the plants.
