SkyWatch Friday 3/13/09

This dove is above the veggie garden, where it likes to hang out with its mate and offspring each summer. This pic was taken March 5.  I don't normally edit much, except for cropping, but I adjusted things so that the bird was not just a silhouette.

We had lots of clouds and a little snow this week.  The next two pics were taken the 8th.

  2. Love that first photo. The sky looks cold.

  3. Spring still seems far away judging by your grey cloudy skies in the bottom two photos. I love the little patch of sunlight on the pigeon's 'undercarriage'!

  4. Hi Sue, I was meeting a friend for breakfast at Cracker Barrel on N. 27th. Coming south off I-80 you can turn to go to King Kong, as you go down the frontage road there is another fast food place (I can't remember the variety) and a motel. I parked at the fast food place to take the photo. That's probably as clear as mud?

    Nice sky photos.

  6. I love your dove. The cloudy skies are pretty too, but I'm getting weary taking pictures of cloudy skies. Still...pretty.

  12. Hi Sue ~~ The dove is a beauty. It doesn't look photo shopped--very natural. The sky looks ominous and the trees look like they're really tired of the cold. No wait, that's me. :)

  13. Sue: I must say I liked the dove sky shot the best. Very well done on the capture.

  14. Very glad I found your blog...I love to garden. I am in Michigan and seeing very little signs of Spring. It is in the teens tonight.

  15. Hi Sue, It's me again. Thank you for your lovely comment on my blog regarding epilepsy. I really appreciate your words and your thoughts. It is true that many other illnesses out there do receive a lot more attention than Epilepsy when in fact it does affect over 50 million people worldwide! And like the statistics say, that's more than multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy and Parkinson's disease combined. Sad, but true.
My epilepsy was cause by head trauma as well and something that I must live through by proper medications and diet to get it under control and educating those around me that it is nothing to be afraid of... hopefully Epilepsy Awareness Day will help let others know just that!
    Take care!

  16. I didn't realize you were from Nebraska! My family is from Lincoln and Hastings. I remember my Grandfather's garden-he fed the whole neighborhood. The earth was so dark and perfect for gardening. Great blog!
