Rain and Leaves in the Parking Lot

It was raining when I got off work today.  The leaves in the parking lot looked pretty wet.  There was some standing water, too.  I got my phone camera out, and took some photos.  I didn't notice the reflections of the trees until I saw them on my computer.

Currently, it is 32 degrees, and the rain has turned to snow.  Larry has looked out at it several times, but I haven't had the heart to.  In the past, I may have, but I'm cold, and not in the mood.  Maybe I'll peek out before I go to bed.  I imagine it will be there in the morning.  They say we could get an inch.  Maybe I'll take some photos of it.

How has your weather been?

  1. Sorry to hear you're getting snow, it's not my favorite kind of weather. I wouldn't have the heart to look out at it either. We seldom get it here in the PNW, but it IS in our forecast for next week. All the weather pundits are predicting a difficult winter here.

  2. Don't be sad, you can't fight against nature.
Your garden needs to rest and you too, so enjoy yourself.

And I am back on Blotanical, with my new blog.

  3. Snow snow snow. Winter 2008-9 my little mountain town received 9'--yes that's nine feet.
    It was a little much.
We have to take what we get and as parents would say "take what you get and be happy".
Take care this winter. Stay warm and safe.

  4. Be interesting to see what winter brings this year since weather has been strange for us in the lower Midwest. At least snow means moisture which is how I always look at it.

Winter also means a rest break from gardening and a good excuse to read. Of course, I don't have to get out and drive in it these days.

The pictures of the leaves in the parking lot were beautiful.

  5. Looking out the window right now 6:27 a.m. there are rain clouds overhead. We need the rain though, so I won't complain. I just hope it isn't raining as I go to and from work today.

Can't believe you have your first snow. At least it's only an inch, not a blizzard. I'm sure you will come up with a lovely picture of this first snow to share with all of us.

Have a nice weekend ~ FlowerLady

  6. You had it so mild, the cold is near as well as the white stuff.I set my shovels near the frontof my shed. We had rain so it was nice i got all my bulbs planted, I teased my neighbor that we should go and get more. I got a 1st garden catalog yesterday, I think this may be the earliest.I like your second shot, the reflections don't always show as well until you get it larger.I'm headed to a craft show and my favorite Dutch bakeries. No kolaches like I yearn for,I need a trip to Wilbur.

  7. We've had amazing 70-degree weather all week, perfect for me to get a lot accomplished outside. But your weather is headed our way--it's supposed to rain today and then turn much colder. The TV weatherman even said the "S" word for Wednesday--that makes me shiver.

  8. Hi,

Sorry to hear you're getting snow, hopefully it won't stick around too long!

Snow's pretty, but also becomes boring very quickly...

  10. I love these pictures! I've actually done the very same thing...taken pictures of leaves in a parking lot! It's nice to know there are others like myself and that I'm not just crazy. Don't you love the bluish tint? And the trees are hauntingly beautiful in the reflection.
