I am excited to report a few outdoor blooms for this month's bloom day! This little clump of crocus is in the planter on the south side of the house.
These daffodils are also on the south side of the house. There are a couple buds on the clump.
I still have some yard art blooms, and as you can see, the snow is not all melted.
There are only a few indoor blooms. I was surprised by these kalanchoe blooms while watering plants a few days ago. I pulled some of the dried up leaves before taking the photo.
I'm not sure if it was our daughter or me who got this little cactus pot for Larry. This one has been blooming off and on for a few weeks.
There are a few holiday cactus blooms still coming on to finish up this season's round of blooms.
Begonias are inconsistent bloomers for me in the house, but when they do, I sure enjoy the pretty, petite blooms.
Of course, I still enjoy the dried flowers year-round. Strawflowers keep their colors well.
I am having fun seeing spring unfold on other blogs. The hellebores are quite lovely, and I am hoping mine do well this spring. I am looking forward to seeing what is blooming this month your way. Find other blooms or join in at Carol's May Dreams Gardens.

Oh so beautiful sue. Love that wonderful little crocus. And you know I LOVE the cactus.
ReplyDeleteHappy spring.
We are blooming snow right now, not even one little crocus. Nice you found some blooms this early. Happy GBBD, Sue.
ReplyDeleteLove seeing your outdoor scenes with a few blooms, and your indoor bloomers are a treat too. I'm looking forward to seeing your gardens wake up from their winter sleep.

Sue,
ReplyDeleteHope winter leaves up there soon. Hard to believe you have crocus so early,we have one very similar to your blooming right now. Can't wait to see your hellebores, soon we'll have the second wave of ours and at least 3 news ones for the garden in bloom!
Crocus! Lucky you! Happy Bloom Day. My turn will come. I think.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful touch of spring. I'm surprised you still have snow --better get rid of it fast-we're heading thru in 2 short weeks, and I always LOVE reaching the NE border and seeing NO SNOW and bright sunny skies.
ReplyDeleteHi Sue, I was just at your blog, but couldn't find a link to leave comments there. Our highs for the next 5 days are forecast to be above 40, so the snow should be melted when you get to Nebraska. I forgot where your grandchid(ren?) live. Are they in Nebraska, too? I still haven't heard anything about how the cranes are faring. You'll have to keep us posted. Every year, I think about trying to get there. This won't be the year, because we have too many unexpected expenses, including a huge chunk for income tax.
DeleteWow - crocus already! My image of Nebraska was that you would be dealing with snow till the end of March like us.
ReplyDeleteSpring is coming, there are sure signs of it, even amid the snow! Hooray for flowers, inside or out!

Lovely outdoor and indoor blooms Sue! I love the delicate color of your kalanchoe blooms. We have some dragonwing begonias blooming indoors here too. No outdoor blooms here yet, thought daffodil and snowdrop foliage is emerging. Happy Bloom Day!
ReplyDeleteAmazed you found some blooms with all that snow. We don't have as much here in southern Wisconsin but we don't have any bulbs coming up either. Can't wait for that to happen!
ReplyDeleteWonderful post for GBBD!
ReplyDeleteAren't crocus amazing - such beauty when it is still freezing cold outside.
I had forgotten about strawflowers - I must plant some this year!
Happy Garden Bloggers' Bloom Day!

What a nice surprise to see that crocus! I think I still have a tiny clump of white ones, but see no sign of anything, so maybe they are gone.
ReplyDeleteHi Sue! I enjoyed your colorful blooms! Wishing you a Happy GBBD! Those daffodils will be ready in no time! Cheers, Jenni
ReplyDeleteHow nice to see the crocuses and budding daffodils in spite of the return of winter! Beautiful photos of the snow on your last post, Sue--it's funny, because that was such a warm weekend here that I actually had crocuses blooming then, too. But it turned to winter the very next day:) Ah well, we know spring can't be far away--Happy Bloom Day!
ReplyDeleteSweet little crocus blooms! I don't know why mine are being so shy - I was hoping they would be blooming by now, but no. I'm impressed that your cactus is blooming! Very pretty! Happy GBBD!
ReplyDeleteYour crocus is looking lovely...a welcome sign of spring not too far away. Happy GBBD!
ReplyDeleteHello, I think your crocus has a brother or sister in my garden, here in London, looking identical and in flower! Aren’t they cute, at this time of year? We have had really cold weather the last 3 weeks, well into minus, and as cold as minus 6 several nights, which is unusual for London. Spring is on hold at the moment! Loved your cactus :-)
ReplyDeleteAwwww, I love that first shot!
ReplyDeleteIt's been a light winter don't you think so far..lovely..sandy
ReplyDeleteLove your blooms, Sue. Nice snow shot too!
ReplyDeleteThis is very nice and more beautiful garden shared on the site so that can be enjoy it in this garden. There are different types flower in the garden. Mostly people are very like it and enjoy it in this garden.
DeleteBeautiful blooms, Sue...sadly, you reminded me that I accidentally dug up my only patch of Crocus this summer while weeding out some Spanish Bluebells :-(
ReplyDeleteDried flowers never fail to please, right? When I saw your header photo, I thought you were going to say everything was under snow. Love the Crocuses! I'm sure I have Hellebores and Crocuses ready under the mulch, but I don't want to clear it away yet--while there's still a chance for a deep freeze.
ReplyDeleteI like your indoor blooms Sue, how lovely.
ReplyDeleteYour garden is now all white.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see all the spring blooms that totally fill your garden space.
Have a nice weekend.
Brrrrr.... Looks like you all have had alot of snow... Love your header!!! We have had very little snow this winter --and it has remained fairly mild. However, they say that we 'may' get some snow on Sunday....??????
ReplyDeleteLove your Crocus plants... We have some coming up --but not nearly ready to bloom yet...
Hope you have a great weekend.
Hugs,
Betsy
How exciting to have crocus in bloom already, spring is coming early this year! I still have violas and pansies in bloom, due to our mild winter, but I'm looking forward to crocus and hellebore before too long.
