The Last of the Daylilies and a Purple Datura
Most of the daylilies are finished blooming, and the few that bloomed today will be finished tomorrow, or else have one or two buds left. I can't believe how fast summer is flying by. The photos were taken at dusk, so aren't the best quality, plus, the blooms are getting ready to crumple up and die, but I wanted to take this opportunity to make note of the last daylilies to be in bloom, and join Tootsie's Flaunt Your Flowers.

Have a great weekend!
Thanks so much for stopping by my Art Blog. Yes, I think all the gals did a wonderful job on the butterfly Art Challenge.
ReplyDeleteYou corner yard is lovely. That purple day lily is so unique...never seen anything like it.
I will come back later to see your previous posts.
It is always so sad when the gardens start to fade. You still have some wonderful blooms though.
ReplyDelete~Sue, it's hard to say goodbye to the daylilies~They surely signal an end to summer. Thankfully there are the Susans to carry us forth! I hope your weekend is relaxing and filled with good times in the garden. gail
ReplyDeleteMine are almost finished blooming too, Sue :( Like Gail, happy to have my Susans :)
ReplyDeleteYou have a lovely selection of daylilies!
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely color your datura has!
ReplyDeleteLove the datura--I also love the smell, even though I get why people would hate it. :)
ReplyDeleteYour lillies must have been wonderful in their height of glory. Mine are getting to the end also but they sure put on a show this year. Now, onto the next bloomin' season, late summer in all its glory.
ReplyDeleteSue, Your daylilies are so pretty. I love the bright red one. I think daylilies are queen(s) of the garden in mid-late summer - love 'em!
ReplyDeleteBeth
Oh, they're so pretty...I'm so loving all the different colors...
ReplyDeleteSue, mine have been gone for a few weeks now.
ReplyDeleteAbout the only thing I have going is phlox.
I love the red with the lighter edges.
I still have some daylilies braving struggling along in our heat. I love your yellow one with the frilled edges.
ReplyDeletemy gardens I think have peaked and are on the slow decline to fall....I hate it. Your gardens are still looking nice girl..I love datura.
